Conveniently incorrect?

This photo comes courtesy of a column written by Peter Duffy in the Chronicle Herald, a Nova Scotia daily.
According to Duffy, Halifax bookseller John Doull is fully aware of the sign’s ”conveniently incorrect” spelling. His antiquarian bookstore, Doull told Duffy, ultimately benefits from the sign’s eye-catching appeal.
Had I stumbled upon this shop on vacation in Halifax, I probably would have just assumed the spelling was the Canadian way to do it.
That and the propensity of French in Montreal explains why I came back from my honeymooon in Canada with exactly zero photographs of grammar abuse.
